Transfer Student Success Story: BRYCE DODGE (G’21)
I transferred over the summer from Jemptegaard Middle School in the Washougal School District into 7th grade at King’s Way. I was a little nervous at first because I’m a little bit of an introvert, but I joined the middle school football team that year and that helped me to form friendships immediately. All the teachers were friendly and welcoming, which also helped the transition. The spiritual atmosphere here is great. There are so many kids that share your views, so you can freely talk about questions you may have with them or any of the teachers.
Currently in my junior year, I play three sports: football, basketball, and baseball. I have a 4.0 GPA and I’m currently in two AP classes and one concurrent credit class. I believe it’s God’s call to play baseball in college, so I’m looking for a college where I can pursue my passion.
The biggest change in my attitude at King’s Way from now is my gratitude. My gratitude of being able to go to a school with devoted teachers and play sports with devoted coaches who care about you as a person and a student/athlete.
We want to make this transition as easy on your family as possible
If your child is attending another school and you are considering transferring them to King’s Way, you probably have a list of questions.
Questions like:
Will my child be behind because King’s Way has more rigorous academic standards?
Will my child assimilate easily into the King’s Way routine and student life?
Will my child receive the support needed to succeed in this new environment? Will my child make friends?
We are happy to answer any questions you have about KWCS academic standards, the transfer student’s pace and transition, student life and how to assimilate into the new environment, or even questions about our commitment to teaching a Biblical worldview.
We accept transfer students year-round, as long as there is space in the classroom, and the application is approved. As we work with so many of these transfer students each year, we understand that this might be a challenging and sensitive time for you and your family. Our admissions and administrative staff will work hard to make sure you get all the information you need to make this decision. When your child begins their journey at KWCS, our faculty will carefully assist with this transition and make this change a positive experience.
To begin the transition to King’s Way, you can simply schedule a tour or visit our Learning Center or K-12 Admissions page for more information.
