MIDDLE SCHOOL

Foundations of Drama

Ever wonder how the “stars” do it? In this class, you’ll learn how to craft a believable character and make them come alive on stage or screen. From foundational show biz terminology to advanced tricks of the trade, this course offers a comprehensive and action-packed introduction to the world of theater. Under the professional guidance of one of Journey Theater’s top-notch instructors, you’ll explore your acting talent through scene-study, monologue work, improvisation and more!  

    HIGH SCHOOL

    Drama 1
    This class provides an introductory approach to acting for the stage. From foundational show biz terminology to advanced tricks of the trade, you will receive a comprehensive and action-packed introduction to the world of theater. Students will learn acting warm-ups, stage directions, scene-study, monologue work, improvisation, and more!

      MS & HS Drama 

      Chelsea Nicole Lapp is an award-winning choreographer and performer from San Diego, California. Having grown up in the theatre world since age 4, Chelsea has performed in over 80 shows and tour groups, and began choreographing and teaching dance classes for a national children’s theatre company at the age of 14. Since 2007, Chelsea has choreographed both professional and non-professional shows all over the Unites States, as well as Uganda. She is a recipient of the Portland Area Musical Theatre Award, Inland Theatre League, National Youth Arts, and Director’s Choice Award.

      About Journey Theater:
      Journey Theater is a Christ-centered theater arts program that exists to grow youth and their families in character and purpose to be difference-makers in their world. A nonprofit operating right here in Clark County, Journey’s core values of integrity, community, and quality have been evident throughout its programming, as it serves kids ages 6-18 though after-school classes, fully staged musicals and plays, and camps. Having served over 7,500 individual students, in 170 shows and thousands of classes in the course of its 19 year history, Journey is firmly rooted in and loved by the community.
