Campus Safety

The Safety and Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) is a team of four local law enforcement and public safety experts who have a vested interest in serving King’s Way to create an environment and protocols that enhance and ensure the safety of every student and staff/faculty member. The team is always available on an “as-needed” basis, but additionally meets quarterly to proactively engage in safety related dialogue to advise the school on next steps in their long term strategic safety plan. The SSAC has over 80 years of professional experience in law enforcement and fire/rescue in the following areas:

  • Fire and Rescue– Firefighter, Lieutenant, Training Officer, Public Information Officer, Fire Inspector, Task Force Leader, High Performance Institute certified personal coach, Industrial Risk Management Specialist, Incident Management

  • Law Enforcement– Detective, Collision Reconstructionist, Major Crime Unit, Undercover Narcotics, Lead Investigative Division, Lead Cadet Advisor, Public Information Officer, Incident Management

The SSAC’s vast professional experience aids in:

  • Providing guidance and recommendations for unique situations 

  • Refining the long-term strategic safety plan for the campus

  • Creating and prioritizing structural improvements/safeguards

  • Reviewing the school’s monthly safety drill schedule

  • Establishing and revising campus traffic flow plan
