Looking to the future

The 21st Century Student

King’s Way Christian High School is committed to offering a robust educational experience that fully prepares students to be successful in whatever area students choose to pursue post-high school. To fulfill our commitment, KWCHS offers the following:

  • College preparatory academics—we offer 35 credits of concurrent credit. college courses; as well as 10 Advanced Placement courses.
  • A wide array of courses so students can explore many interests.
  • Qualified teachers with expertise in their fields—teachers write yearly professional development plans so they continue to grow and stay abreast of changes in their fields.
  • Attention to student social/emotional development: High School faculty and staff seek to monitor student social/emotional health first and foremost by listening to the needs and wants of students. Students are encouraged to share their concerns and needs with caring adults. The High School Dean for Students is available for students to come to for counseling, as is the rest of the faculty and staff. Surveys are given to get feedback and response from students related to the daily life of the school. Chapels and assemblies are scheduled to address topics of interest and concern. Additionally, we have small groups that meet throughout the year where students meet with peers from other grades to share their perspectives and discuss school-related as well as personal issues.
  • Leadership—we offer leadership opportunities for students in academics, social life, spiritual life, and athletics
  • Development of 21st Century Skills—To continue to offer relevant, cutting edge education, KWCHS is launching a 1:1 laptop program that will allow students to continue to explore and expand use of technology in learning. We are also in the process of planning and building out an Innovations Lab, a space designed for students to explore STEM-related fields. Having just received a Murdock Grant to fund this initiative, we are excited to see how the addition of this 21st century learning space will augment the learning experience for all K-12 students, but especially high school students.
