Background:
I grew up in Vancouver, graduated from Prairie High School, went to Western Washington University for 3 years where I played on the Men’s Golf Team.  I then transferred to Washington State University, Vancouver where I graduated with my degree in Business Administration.  I started working as a financial advisor in 1999 for a large brokerage firm.  In 2004 I started my own firm which is now Sustainable Wealth Management.  I continue to serve clients as an Investment Consultant and I am also the President of the firm.
Family:
My wife Kristy and I have been married for 23 years (we met in high school).  We have three kids.  Aiden started at King’s Way in 7th grade and graduated from King’s Way in 2021 and will be a sophomore at George Fox University.  Isaac started at King’s Way in 6th grade and will be a senior next year.  Macie started at King’s Way in 3rd grade and will be in 8th grade next year.  We are members of Summit View Church Westside Campus.
Why I decided to serve:
The King’s Way Community is amazing. I just completed my fourth season as the Head Baseball Coach at King’s Way.  I also coached the Men’s Golf Team last season.  I was a board member from 2017-2019. The more I get involved in the community through board service, athletics, etc., the more I realize what a special place this is.  The staff, students and  families that make up the King’s Way community have been such a huge blessing to me and my family that it makes me excited to give back and serve howeer I can.

Chair

Tim Devine

Tim Devine has served two terms as chair of the King’s Way Board of Directors, having previously served as the Board secretary. Prior to joining the Board, he volunteered with the King’s Way Advisory Council and the Watchdogs program where he served seven years. He and his wife Nicole have two children at King’s Ways: Delaney (G’21) and Kenner (G’23). Tim is a captain for Alaska Airlines based in Portland, Oregon, flying the Boeing 737NG. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Administration as well as an Associate of Arts.

What he appreciates most about Kings Way is that King’s Way offers a Christ-Centered education that not only challenges our children to strive for academic excellence, but to truly explore and dig deep into their spiritual faith. He is grateful for the teachers and staff who meet our children right where they are, and nurture and guide them through this journey.

He enjoys serving on the Board because he believes he was called to serve on this Board. Tim feels blessed to have the opportunity to work alongside an outstanding team and give back to the King’s Way community.

School Board Treasurer

Jerry R. Kelso

Jerry R. Kelso joined the KWCS Board in March, 2017. He currently serves as the designated board representative for Vancouver Church. Jerry’s favorite recreation activities are camping and fishing with his family. Jerry has attended Vancouver Church for over thirty years and served on the Vancouver Church Board of Trustees as treasurer, vice chair, and chairman. Jerry has also served on the Board of the Vancouver Church Foundation. What he appreciates most about King’s Way is the Christ-centered environment where students receive high quality education and are encouraged to grow in ways that lead to life changing experiences.

He enjoys serving on the Board because he wants to use his experiences and God-given gifts and talents to serve in a mission where the seeds of Christ’s love are planted in our youth and investment in future generations is paramount.

He is a past chair of the Software Association of Oregon Board of Directors and is a certified Salesforce.com consultant.

What he appreciates most about King’s Way is that it’s an outstanding school that encourages a student in their walk with Christ, regardless of where a student is on their journey.
