All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Course Curriculum

Christian Foundations

This course is designed to develop a student’s understanding how the roles of the Bible, the Church, and personal ministry are essential to the Christian faith. Students will be equipped to do inductive Bible study (biblical observation, interpretation and application), encouraged to foster Christian community with fellow Believers, and invest in the Kingdom of God by serving our families, school, and the cities we live in.  This class is for all 9th graders and most first year students.

The Gospels and People of God

This course will look at the life of Jesus of Nazareth and how a small group of his followers changed the world forever.  We will look at Jesus’ impact on art, science, government, medicine, and education; plus how He taught us about dignity, compassion, forgiveness, and hope. This class is a class of choice for all 10-11 grade students.

People and Themes of the Bible

Knowing the stories and key themes of the Bible gives us insight into what life is meant to be like in relationship to God.  This class will explore key biblical stories, people and themes in order to help understand why we believe what we believe and how Jesus is central to all of it.  This class is a class of choice for all 10-11 grade students.

Spiritual Transformation

Spiritual Transformation is all about intentionally making space for spiritual growth.  In an effort to develop depth in our relationship with God, we will explore what it means to relate to our Creator and establish habits that  foster ongoing spiritual maturity. The desired result is knowing Jesus and being transformed into his likeness, all while living in a noisy, busy world.  This class is a class of choice for all 10-11 grade students.

Apologetics

Christian apologetics involves making a case for the truth of the Christian faith.  In this course, students will be challenged to examine their beliefs, take ownership of their faith, and increase their understanding of evidence that supports the Christian faith as true.  This will enhance their ability to articulate what they believe and why they believe it preparing them to impact their culture, King’s Way and beyond.  This class is a class of choice for all 10-11 grade students.

Christian Worldview

This class equips students to see the world through the lens of the Biblical Story of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration – grounding students in a picture of how the gospel inspires them to live in the world as people who love God as he loves the world.  Students also get a chance to explore and identify how they are wired and how that God given talent gives them insight into how they live in the world, but not of it. This class is for all 12th graders.
