After much prayer and reflection, the Athletics Department is very excited to announce our new Varsity Girls Basketball and KW Girls Basketball Program Director Nicole Bagley. Nicole is headed into her 3rd year at King’s Way Christian School and has been involved in the girls basketball program and the development department for 2 years. Coach Bagely was selected from a pool of qualified candidates because of her ability to connect with the current roster, her love of King’s Way and its mission, and her basketball knowledge base. Coach comes from a stellar background that includes 1st team All-League and All-State honors at Elma High School and then accepted a full scholarship at Central Washington where she played for the wildcats for 4 years graduating with a degree in exercise science. Her learning spirit and collaborative nature and deep rooted love for athletes on campus already is what set her apart from the other candidates. The program will benefit from her stability, her Christlike pursuit of relationships and ability to develop skilled basketball players.
“I can’t be thrilled enough to announce Coach Bagley as our next basketball coach.” Says Athletic Director Brad Butterworth She’s smart, she’s humble, she’s skilled and she’s ready to take the next step with these girls.” She will also likely be involved in a high capacity with the newly formed Athletics Period where athletes participate in sport specific strength training. She has experience in training professional athletes at a high level. Coach Butterworth continues, “Her skills along with her passion for King’s Way and these girls are what makes her the best fit for King’s Way.”
Coach hit the ground running as she absorbed the interim role the past week. She will continue to work within the WIAA open coaching period, now as the official Head Coach. It is this type of leadership and stability that she displays that makes the transition easy and points to why she is the perfect fit.
Coach Bagley is married to Duncan and they have two children who both attend King’s Way, Grayson (13) and Addison (11) — two future Knight athletes!
