Marching Band

Fine & Performing Arts

From Halftime to Showtime

The King’s Way Marching Band exploded onto the scene in 2019-2020 to thunderous applause from fans and students alike! Bringing an edge of heightened excitement this inaugural year in our new football stadium, the marching band launched a bright new tradition for the school. School pride, musicianship, camaraderie, integrity, and tradition combined to make this first year impactful to the community. This new program hopes to inspire many new members to join and share their God-given talents in a fun, challenging, and exciting way for the school.

Concert Band season follows Marching Band season. We perform three concerts per year, participate in at least one festival, as well as learn music theory, music history, and best performance practices. Next year, our goal is to take a trip to an out-of-state music festival.

“…praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.”

Psalm 150:4-6

As King’s Way High School Band Director, Mrs. Goshey oversees the high school instrumental programs, including Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and small ensembles.

Utilizing her Masters of Music Performance Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Allene has enjoyed being an in-demand principle clarinetist for many Bay Area symphonies with over 25 years of performance and private clarinet studio work.

In addition to her roles as Interim Clarinet Professor at San Jose State University and as music performance coach with both college and high school ensembles, she has extensive experience in performing with Symphony Orchestras, Chamber Orchestras, Opera, Wind Symphonies, Small Ensembles, and Marching Bands. Throughout her career, Allene’s students have enjoyed ongoing Honor Band successes at the national, state, and county levels.

Her vision for the music program is to help her students develop a foundation of collaboration, high standards, discipline, and music enjoyment that will last a lifetime.
