School-Age Program

Our school-age program is a diverse group with many different ages. We have a kindergarten classroom for children who are in school for half a day. We also have a school-age room for children in first through the age of 12. Throughout your child’s time in the school-age program we consider their individual need for variety, relaxation, special interests and physical activities. We want children to have positive adult relationships and cooperative peer relationships!

Activities

In the room you will find it is split into different interest areas. These areas include art, games, blocks, library, dramatic play, math and science, and a computer. In all these areas we support and enhance your child’s development in literacy, math, science and the creative arts. We encourage and help children work through issues using problem solving. Each day children are offered an opportunity to do homework with a teacher supervising.

What Are My Children Learning?

Click the thumbnail for a larger version Children are learning throughout their day. For example when you see a child playing a developmentally appropriate board game, they are learning to add, subtract, sequencing, cooperative play and following rules. When a child is doing art they are learning to express their feelings, plan and organize their ideas, experience pride and refine eye-hand coordination.

Summer Camp

During the summer we will be planning an exciting summer camp full of fun activities and field trips. Activities will be planned around a weekly theme with two field trips a week.
